Bella Vista as a residential community was started in 1965. 41 years later, on November 7, 2006, the resident voters turned the unincorporated village of Bella Vista, Arkansas into the Town of Bella Vista, Arkansas, complete with a Mayor, Recorder/Treasurer, Attorney, and a 5 member Council.
